Bonnie King, Ph.D., LPC, NCC"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; to leave the world a little better; whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is the meaning of success." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson It is my goal to provide compassionate, caring, counseling services to you and your family. I am a Ph.D., level Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I have eight years of counseling experience in community, school and private practice settings. I utilize an existential approach to therapy. This means that I will explore what gives your life meaning and help you live in accordance with your authentic self. I may explore issues within the context of responsibility and freedom, personal choice, connectedness vs. isolation and meaning as it applies to how you would like to live your life. I help adults and adolescents navigate emerging roles, stress management, relationships, and self-worth. I have a specialization in working with transgender, non-binary, and LGBTQ+ youth and adults. My goal is to help clients explore their gender identity in a safe, non-judgmental environment. We will explore gender roles, desire for transition, "coming out," and family processing and acceptance.
